RISHA OPP, LMT: MASSAGE TAILORED FOR YOU

A customized blend of massage styles to assist you on your wellness journey

The art of massage is ancient and universal. It has been used to aid healing and bring comfort since the dawn of time and in every culture; therapeutic touch is intrinsic to our well-being, our humanity. I have been on a quest to glean the best of historic and modern techniques in order to create the most relaxing, healing, and effective massage session possible. I draw from the soothing strokes of Swedish massage, the specific therapeutic work of trigger point release and cupping therapy, the broad, deep, balancing pressure of ashiatsu, and my own intuition to address your body's needs in a tailored way. Since no two people are alike, I believe that no two massage sessions should be alike. Join me on this amazing journey of healing!

Massage Styles

More about the styles I draw from

Reflexology

Swedish Massage

Classic Techniques

Flowing strokes and deep relaxation are the hallmarks of Swedish Massage.

Deep Tissue Massage

Natural Healing

Some clients prefer a little more depth and pressure for their particular therapeutic needs, and I am glad to customize a massage to fit your goals.

Trigger Point Therapy

An Ancient Science

Sometimes our muscles and fascia become 'sticky' and bunched up from stressors and day-to-day wear and tear. Trigger point release gently melts these areas of tension for a better you.

Cupping Therapy

Super Suction

Sometimes your body just needs a firm suction to lift stuck, stiff fascia up and melt the pain away. Cupping therapy is similar to trigger point release, but instead of the hands being used to release trigger points, the action is supplied by silicone suction cups over the problem areas. As the skin and fascia are drawn up into the cup via suction, blood flow and immunity rushes to the area, encouraging healing and repair. You'll look like you've been attacked by an octopus, but your body will thank you!

Ashiatsu

Deep Luxury

For those that enjoy a deep massage, ashiatsu is just the thing for you! I am a certified Deepfeet Bar Therapy ashiatsu practitioner. The massage is applied to the back and the rest of the body, using the therapist's feet as they balance using bars suspended from the ceiling. The massage is deep and broad and carries many benefits: deep relaxation, lengthening the muscles along the spine, relieving nerve impingements and helping to align the sacrum and pelvis, to name a few.

More About Ashiatsu

Common myths dispelled

Myth 1: Ashiatsu will be too deep for me. Not true! For most of the massage, one of my feet is kept on the table and the massage can be applied as deeply or lightly as necessary. If a client wants extra-deep pressure, I have some techniques where full body-weight can be used.
Myth 2: Ashiatsu is only performed on the back. Although generally I only use my feet on the posterior of the body, the style of ashiatsu I perform can be a full-body massage for those that prefer a deeper pressure on the front of the body as well as the back. The back, glutes, legs, arms, hands, neck, and more are all given the care and attention they need. If you feel a particular area could use more direct attention, I will gladly jump down off the table and use hands or silicone cups for a more detailed treatment. Ashiatsu can be mixed and matched with all other therapy styles
